Component Dynamics Earns AS6081 Certification, Strengthening Commitment to Counterfeit Mitigation

Tony Reveruzzi

Component Dynamics has earned AS6081 certification, the aerospace industry standard for counterfeit electronic parts avoidance. The certification reinforces our long-standing commitment to mitigating risks associated with sourcing electronic components from the open market.

AS6081 establishes comprehensive controls for supplier qualification, purchasing, inspection, testing, traceability, reporting, and the control of suspect or counterfeit parts. These requirements provide a structured, auditable framework for managing sourcing risk throughout the supply chain.

What AS6081 Means for Our Customers

AS6081 differs from broader quality management standards, such as AS9120, by focusing specifically on counterfeit prevention rather than general risk controls. For Component Dynamics and our customers, that means:

  • Enhanced supplier evaluation and vetting processes
  • Explicit communication of sourcing risks to customers
  • Defined inspection and testing requirements based on product and sourcing risk
  • Detailed documentation and traceability at every stage of the supply chain
  • Oversight and accountability for third-party test house performance

The certification is valid on a three-year cycle, with annual surveillance audits conducted to confirm continued compliance.
